Economic Impact

We hold IP with the company Delta-T to design, test and market a porous matrix sensor to measure soil water content that will generate income.

With Defra Uplift funding we have developed a simple readily understandable tool - KeySoil - that enables a user to (i) establish a preliminary estimate of their current soil C status and likely prospects to improve financial returns; (ii) compare soil C content for a particular soil against a statistically derived benchmarks or range for similar soils; (iii) monitor the effects of a change in practice on soil organic matter status.

With Defra funding we are revising the UK Fertiliser Recommendations.
